JLT Specialty USA
Brad Kotlewski

JLT Specialty USA, has hired Brad Kotlewski as senior vice president. Kotlewski will be based in the New York City office.

Kotlewski will join JLT’s Financial Lines Group as the USA Private Equity Product leader. In this role, he will be focusing on delivering financial insurance-based products to the private equity sector, and helping JLT build a team of U.S.-based experts in this arena.

RPC Consulting
Chris Carson

RPC Consulting – the insurance consultancy arm of RPC – has hired former PwC Partner Chris Carson to develop and broaden its management consultancy services. Chris has over 28 years’ experience in the insurance sector and while at PwC, he led the Big Four accountancy firm's Insurance Advisory practice across EMEA.

Chris has worked at Board level with Direct Line, MetLife, Aviva and other companies in the UK and around Europe on strategic projects ranging from operational strategy to finance transformation.   He joins RPC Consulting as a Partner.

Managing Partner Rory O'Brien said: "I am absolutely delighted that Chris is joining us. Chris has a huge amount of experience and having worked with him in the past, it is great that he is on board. Following the acquisition of Marriott Sinclair in July we have concentrated on growing our actuarial and software business and now it is time to turn up the heat on our Management Consulting capability – Chris will spear head this. Chris brings with him more than a decade's worth of experience working with the UK's largest insurers, including more than 10 years at PwC. He spent three years as a Director at Deloitte in the Insurance Consulting team; two years at St James Place as Operations Director for its Dublin Life company; and two years at Bacon & Woodrow in its Insurance Consulting team. Prior to that, Chris worked for a number of insurers.

Paul Kneafsey

Everest Re Group, Ltd. have announced that Paul Kneafsey will be joining the Company as the Active Underwriter of its Lloyd’s Syndicate 2786. Paul is expected to assume his new role effective May 1, 2016.

Paul will join Everest from ArgoGlobal where he was most recently Head of Casualty and responsible for a global portfolio in excess of £100 million of premium. Paul joined Argo in 2001 and served as Active Underwriter at Argo Syndicate 1200 from 2009 to 2013 before assuming his current role. He began his career at Amlin and has amassed more than 25 years of underwriting experience at Lloyd’s.

Dr.Gion Christian Casanova becomes a partner at  Prager Dreifuss

Christian Casanova’s practice focuses on  insurance and reinsurance cases as well as liability and real estate matters. Christian further acts for clients in a broad range of civil and commercial disputes before courts and arbitration tribunals, as well as in the protection and recovery of assets in insolvency and attachment proceedings.

Christian Casanova studied law at the University of Zurich, from which he graduated in 2001 and received a doctorate in 2011. In 2013, he graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Master of Laws (LL.M.). In 2004, he was admitted to the bar in Switzerland. He joined Prager Dreifuss in 2009 as an associate.

Nigel Goodlad

Willis Towers Watson has appointed Nigel Goodlad as the European regional managing director of its global captive practice.

Goodlad is now responsible for local offices throughout Europe offering insurance company management services.

Goodlad was previously responsible for Willis's captive insurance company management services operation in Malta. In his new role, he will continue to be located on the island.

Bill Churney

Verisk Analytics (Nasdaq:VRSK), a leading data analytics provider, yesterday announced that it has appointed Bill Churney to the position of president of its AIR Worldwide business. Former AIR President Ming Lee retired effective January 1, 2016, concluding a successful 20-year career at AIR Worldwide, and will continue at AIR until June 2016 in a nonexecutive role.

ACE Group today announced key product, distribution and claims management roles it intends to appoint to the new Chubb operation in Australia. These roles will take effect after the completion of the acquisition of Chubb, which is expected in the first quarter of 2016, and when ACE and Chubb in Australia commence operations together.

Ryan Barnes

Argo Global, today announced the appointment of Ryan Barnes as Head of Casualty for Syndicate 1200. He takes up his new role following the departure of Paul Kneafsey who has left ArgoGlobal to pursue other interests. Ryan will report to Bruno Ritchie, Director of Underwriting. 

Ryan joined ArgoGlobal in 2011 as Professional Indemnity Class Underwriter and brings over 15 years of underwriting experience. In his new role, Ryan will be tasked with the ongoing expansion and diversification of ArgoGlobal’s Casualty portfolio.
