Stewart Muirhead
ArgoGlobal, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stewart Muirhead as Casualty Wordings Manager. He takes up his position with immediate effect, reporting to Ryan Barnes, Head of Casualty.
Stewart brings more than two decades of experience acting for and advising international insurance businesses to ArgoGlobal. He joins from Aon UK Limited where he spent more than 10 years, most recently as Associate Director / Solicitor - Head of Aon Claims Solutions. In this role he was tasked with drafting and advising the UK and US broking divisions on London market brokered policy wordings and slip construction. Stewart was also responsible for legal and claims advisory, project management and committees in the UK and US. He is a qualified solicitor and began his career with Hill Dickinson in 1993 acting for insurers in casualty claims, later practising in Australia with Carter Newell Solicitors, before returning to London in 2002 to join Hextalls Solicitors as an Associate.

Frank O'Neill

Swiss Re has appointed Frank O'Neill chief executive of its UK and Ireland operation.

O’Neill, who has been with the reinsurance giant for 18 years.

Everest Re Group
Kevin Dunham - Mike Newell

Everest Re Group, Ltd. has announced two new additions to its Everest Insurance Distribution Management team. These moves will serve to strengthen the organization’s relationships with their key trading partners as Everest continues to expand its capabilities in the specialty insurance space.

Kevin Dunham has been appointed Regional Leader, Marketing and Distribution for the West region. Kevin joins Everest Insurance from Zurich Global Corporate in North America where he served as Executive Vice President, Western Team Leader - Customer Relationship Management. Prior to joining Zurich, Kevin was Senior Vice President and Branch Manager for ACE Risk Management in Los Angeles. Kevin will be based in the Company’s Orange, California, office.

Mike Newell has been appointed Regional Leader, Marketing and Distribution for the Central region. Mike joins Everest Insurance from Swiss Re Corporate Solutions where he served as Senior Vice President, Head of Sales, Central Region. Prior to joining Swiss Re, Mike spent nearly a decade at AIG where he served as National Account Regional Manager in the Central region. Mike will be based in the Company’s Chicago office.

Liberty International Underwriters
William Bell - Mike Nukk - Rick Niehaus

Liberty International Underwriters (LIU), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has appointed William Bell as senior vice president of Environmental, Mike Nukk as senior vice president of Marine, and Rick Niehaus as senior vice president of Energy & Construction. All three executives will be based in LIU’s New York City office and report to Michael Finnegan, chief underwriting officer for LIU’s U.S. operations.

BF&M Ltd
Paul Markey

BFM Ltd has announced the appointment of Paul Markey to its Board of Directors effective immediately.

Mr. Markey retired recently as the Chairman of Aon’s Bermuda based insurance and reinsurance broking operation, Aon [Bermuda] Ltd.

He joined Aon’s Bermuda operations in 1994, with a mandate to implement a reinsurance broking strategy in Bermuda following the emergence of the Bermuda property catastrophe market in 1992 and 1993.

Mr. Markey had worked for Aon for over 25 years, previously having been Executive Vice President in their New York City reinsurance broking operations.

Prior to joining Aon in 1989, he spent 10 years with General Re in both the Uni ted States and London. Mr. Markey started his career with a Lloyd’s syndicate in the 1970’s.

Peter Dickel - Nichola Dunne

MSIG at Lloyd’s has expanded its accident and health team with the appointment of Peter Dickel and Nichola Dunne to the roles of A&H underwriters.

They will report to Martin Leeks, class underwriter for liability and A&H.

JLT Specialty USA
Brad Kotlewski

JLT Specialty USA, has hired Brad Kotlewski as senior vice president. Kotlewski will be based in the New York City office.

Kotlewski will join JLT’s Financial Lines Group as the USA Private Equity Product leader. In this role, he will be focusing on delivering financial insurance-based products to the private equity sector, and helping JLT build a team of U.S.-based experts in this arena.

RPC Consulting
Chris Carson

RPC Consulting – the insurance consultancy arm of RPC – has hired former PwC Partner Chris Carson to develop and broaden its management consultancy services. Chris has over 28 years’ experience in the insurance sector and while at PwC, he led the Big Four accountancy firm's Insurance Advisory practice across EMEA.

Chris has worked at Board level with Direct Line, MetLife, Aviva and other companies in the UK and around Europe on strategic projects ranging from operational strategy to finance transformation.   He joins RPC Consulting as a Partner.

Managing Partner Rory O'Brien said: "I am absolutely delighted that Chris is joining us. Chris has a huge amount of experience and having worked with him in the past, it is great that he is on board. Following the acquisition of Marriott Sinclair in July we have concentrated on growing our actuarial and software business and now it is time to turn up the heat on our Management Consulting capability – Chris will spear head this. With Chris in the team we will further develop our strategic advisory, our expense and operating efficiency and our transaction capability."

Chris brings with him more than a decade's worth of experience working with the UK's largest insurers, including more than 10 years at PwC. He spent three years as a Director at Deloitte in the Insurance Consulting team; two years at St James Place as Operations Director for its Dublin Life company; and two years at Bacon & Woodrow in its Insurance Consulting team. Prior to that, Chris worked for a number of insurers.


Everest Re Group
Paul Kneafsey

Everest Re Group, Ltd. have announced that Paul Kneafsey will be joining the Company as the Active Underwriter of its Lloyd’s Syndicate 2786. Paul is expected to assume his new role effective May 1, 2016.

Paul will join Everest from ArgoGlobal where he was most recently Head of Casualty and responsible for a global portfolio in excess of £100 million of premium. Paul joined Argo in 2001 and served as Active Underwriter at Argo Syndicate 1200 from 2009 to 2013 before assuming his current role. He began his career at Amlin and has amassed more than 25 years of underwriting experience at Lloyd’s.

Dr.Gion Christian Casanova becomes a partner at  Prager Dreifuss

Christian Casanova’s practice focuses on  insurance and reinsurance cases as well as liability and real estate matters. Christian further acts for clients in a broad range of civil and commercial disputes before courts and arbitration tribunals, as well as in the protection and recovery of assets in insolvency and attachment proceedings.

Christian Casanova studied law at the University of Zurich, from which he graduated in 2001 and received a doctorate in 2011. In 2013, he graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Master of Laws (LL.M.). In 2004, he was admitted to the bar in Switzerland. He joined Prager Dreifuss in 2009 as an associate.
