Neon has promoted Angus Wilson to Head of Marine effective 30th September

Angus will hold this position in addition to his existing role as Class Underwriter for Marine Hull & War and will continue to report to Darren Lednor, Chief Underwriting Officer.

Chris O’Shea

Markel International, has appointed Chris O’Shea as head of reinsurance claims.

Chris will oversee a portfolio of claims including those from the reinsurance teams based in London, Singapore and Latin America, as well as a portfolio of legacy claims.

Chris has had 17 years of technical claims handling experience. He is currently VP, head of claims, London, for Ariel Syndicate 1910, having previously held senior claims appointments at Endurance Worldwide, Montpelier and QBE. From 2013-2015 he was chair of the Lloyd’s reinsurance claims group.

Willis Re
Printhan Sothinathan

Willis Re, the reinsurance division of Willis Towers Watson Plc, named Printhan Sothinathan as managing director for its specialty analytics unit.

Sothinathan joins from Navigators Group and will join Willis in January 2017.

BMS Group
Philip Maloney,Scott Davison and Henry Morgan

BMS Group has launched a new construction unit which will be enhanced by three senior recruits who previously worked at Jardine Lloyd Thompson .
The firm appointed Philip Maloney as managing director and head of the newly created unit. He will be joined by fellow recent hires Scott Davison and Henry Morgan.
Maloney will report to BMS director Ian Gormley. His team will focus on US and international projects among other aspects of construction and engineering re/insurance.

Markel International, has appointed Mike Wimbridge as senior yacht underwriter to its marine, energy and property division.

Joining Markel’s existing hull and war team led by Jason Page, Mike will have responsibility for developing and growing the current yacht portfolio into a market leading position and will be supported by underwriter Roz Insley.

Everest Re Group, Ltd. has announced Christopher Curtin has joined Everest Insurance as Head of Excess & Surplus (E&S) Property. Chris joins Everest as Vice President and National E&S leader, based in the Everest Insurance Boston office. Chris will be responsible for managing all facets of this business unit within Everest’s Property operation, including direct oversight of the Everest underwriting teams dedicated to the E&S market segment.

Louisa Honeybun

ArgoGlobal has announced the appointment of Louisa Honeybun as Senior Livestock Underwriter. Louisa will be responsible for launching and developing ArgoGlobal’s livestock offering. She takes up her role with immediate effect and will report to John Moffatt, head of specialty.

Seraina Maag

Hamilton Insurance Group, the Bermuda-based holding company for property and casualty insurance and reinsurance operations in Bermuda, the US and at Lloyd’s, announced today that Seraina Maag has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton USA.

Reporting to Hamilton Chairman and CEO Brian Duperreault, Ms. Maag will be responsible for overseeing the development of Hamilton’s insurance platform in the US. She takes over the position of CEO from Chief Strategy Officer and Acting CEO Bob Deutsch.
