XL Catlin has announced that it has appointed Daniel Brookman as Senior Vice President, Alternative Capital.

Mr. Brookman was previously Head of Capital Markets at Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd. where he developed and managed account investment strategies for major institutional investors. Mr. Brookman has more than 15 years of experience in the alternative capital industry having previously held senior positions at Barclays Capital, Benfield Advisory and Merrill Lynch’s investment banking division.

Lawrence Cheng - Iain Reynolds

Peak Reinsurance Company Ltd has announced the appointments of Mr. Lawrence Cheng as Head of Underwriting, responsible for the company’s Property & Casualty product underwriting function and Mr. Iain Reynolds as Head of Analytics with immediate effect.

Mr. Cheng previously served as Head of Analytics at Peak Re. He has extensive experience in the reinsurance industry with both broking and reinsurance companies.

Mr. Reynolds joins Peak Re from Guy Carpenter where he served as Head of Catastrophe Modelling for South East Asia, Korea and India. Prior to that, he was the Head of Catastrophe Modelling for Global and Retro Clients in the German speaking region at Guy Carpenter Munich.

Everest Re Group, Ltd. Has announced that Christopher Downey joins the Company as Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer of Everest Re Group.

Mr. Downey joins Everest from Montpelier Reinsurance Ltd. where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of their Global Casualty & Specialty Treaty unit. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee and the Underwriting Leadership Team.

Peter Clarke

Lancashire has today announced that Martin Thomas, who has served as a director on the Lancashire board for over 9 years and as Chairman since 2007, will step down from both roles following this year’s annual general meeting (“AGM”) on 4 May 2016, in accordance with good governance practice.

The Lancashire board has decided to appoint current director Peter Clarke as his successor following the AGM.  Peter Clarke joined the Lancashire board as an independent non-executive director in June 2014, having previously been the Chief Executive of the Man Group plc.

Pioneer Underwriters has announced that Pioneer Special Risk (PSR) has commenced underwriting environmental liability, led by Jessica Huhn-Kenzik, vice president, via its newly established division in Exton, Pennsylvania.

PSR has been approved as a coverholder at Lloyd’s for environmental liability with licenses to transact business in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. The team will provide property owners, developers and contractors with pollution and professional coverage, including site pollution liability.

XL Catlin’s insurance segment today announced it has appointed a new Underwriter, Lim Mei Yean, to its Political Risk and Trade Credit team based in Singapore.

Ms. Lim joins XL Catlin from Asia Capital Reinsurance where she held the position of Underwriter specialising in trade credit treaty reinsurance and specialised facultative reinsurance placements. Ms. Lim has more than 13 years of industry experience covering credit and risk management at Trafigura, Cargill and Euler Hermes.
